Thom Kay is the Federal Policy Manager for Energy Transition at the BlueGreen Alliance. In that role, he advocates for federal policy that will ensure an energy transition that is fair for workers and communities.
Thom has over a 15 years of experience working on federal advocacy campaigns. He was most recently the Campaigns Manager for the BlueGreen Alliance, a role in which he coordinated the alliance’s efforts on economic recovery and infrastructure investments and to eventually pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act.
Prior to joining the BlueGreen Alliance, he was the Legislative Director for Appalachian Voices, where he focused on economic development in coal communities and coal waste pollution issues.
He has a BA in Philosophy from Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC, and lives with his family in Chapel Hill, NC.
