White House partnership with East Coast States a Step Toward Buildout of Offshore Wind Supply Chain
Leaders from the U.S. Departments of Interior, Energy, and Transportation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Climate Advisor Gina McCarthy, and governors from eleven East Coast states today gathered to announce the formation of a new Federal-State Offshore Wind Implementation Partnership. A key aspect of the partnership is to work collectively to build out the nation’s offshore wind supply chain and develop a comprehensive offshore wind supply chain roadmap.
In response to the launch of the partnership, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“The offshore wind industry is taking off along our shores, providing the opportunity to create high-quality, union jobs building, operating, and maintaining a growing number of offshore wind farms. To fully seize on the economic and climate opportunities inherent in this sector, we need to invest in building crucial supply chains. We welcome this announcement and will continue to work with the administration and within the states to ensure that our workers and communities reap the maximum benefits from this growing industry.”
