Labor, Environmental Coalition Cheers Freedhoff Confirmation, Urges Action to Protect Workers
The U.S. Senate today voted to confirm Michal Freedhoff as Assistant Administrator for Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). In response, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“Michal Freedhoff is the right person for this job. She can bring continued leadership and experience to the EPA to do this critical work in ways that lift up communities and workers and prioritize investments in workers and communities that need it most, including frontline communities.
“We urge her to move forward swiftly to protect workers on the job, address long-standing exposures to hazardous chemicals—including PCBs found in our schools and surrounding environments—and to support and expand the Safer Choice program to promote safer ingredients in cleaning and other products.”
