Green Jobs Rally in Saint Paul
Labor and environmental leaders rallied last July at St. Paul College to call on Gov. Tim Pawlenty to create and implement a plan to create green jobs for Minnesota.
Saying Minnesota stands to realize enormous economic opportunities by pursing global-warming solutions, hundreds of community members, labor and environmental leaders rallied on July 27 at St. Paul College to call on Gov. Tim Pawlenty to create and implement a plan to create green jobs for Minnesota.
Joined by national radio commentator and bestselling author Jim Hightower, United Steelworkers International Vice President Fred Redmond, local labor, community, and environmental leaders said that investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency will stimulate economic growth and opportunity, creating thousands of good, family-supporting jobs for Minnesotans, while fighting global warming and moving America toward energy independence.
The people rallying also formed the largest human wind turbine ever in Minnesota.
