Clean Energy for America Act Includes Powerful New Provisions to Ensure Clean Energy Tax Credits Create Good-Paying Jobs and Help Grow the Manufacturing Supply Chain in the United States
The Senate Finance Committee yesterday met to markup Sen. Ron Wyden’s (D-OR) Clean Energy for America Act. In response, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“This is a big deal. Sen. Wyden’s bill is an important step toward ensuring clean energy jobs in the United States are good-paying jobs that support families. This bill includes the first ever labor standards and domestic manufacturing provisions for federal clean energy and clean vehicle tax credits. They will help ensure that the investments we make to grow the clean energy economy and fight climate change are also investments in family-supporting jobs and rebuilding manufacturing and communities across America. When our public dollars support clean energy projects, workers on those projects should be paid fair wages and receive the highest quality skills training, and we should be strengthening domestic manufacturing and supply chains critical to America’s future as we transition to cleaner, cheaper forms of energy.”
