Brenda Mallory today was confirmed as the next Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). In response, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:

“There is no doubt that Brenda Mallory is the right person for this job. Her service at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and prior position as general counsel at CEQ make her uniquely qualified to fill this important role. As we work to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic in ways that create and sustain good-paying, high-quality jobs and ensure a cleaner, safer, more equitable economy, we are confident that Brenda will lead CEQ in ways that will strengthen our communities and tackle the underlying crises of climate change, economic inequality, and racial injustice.”
