During an interview today on Talkline with Hoppy Kercheval on the status of talks around a budget reconciliation bill, U.S. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) confirmed he was committed to continuing negotiations saying he “is not stopping.” He also reaffirmed his support for investments in climate and energy investments during the interview saying, “I want climate, I want energy policy.”

Following the interview, the BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:

“A strong budget reconciliation bill is what the United States needs to get our nation back on track. Investments in manufacturing and our energy future will help fight inflation, build secure supply chains, make our economy less dependent on volatile global prices, and power our nation for generations to come. 

“There are going to be bumps in the road during any negotiation. We take Sen. Manchin at his word that he supports clean energy, manufacturing, and other priorities in the bill and that he will continue to negotiate. We will hold him to his word.”
