BlueGreen Alliance Reaction to Congressman Waxman’s Retirement
BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director David Foster released the following statement on the retirement of Congressman Henry Waxman (CA).
WASHINGTON, DC (January 30, 2014) – Today, BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director David Foster released the following statement on the retirement of Congressman Henry Waxman (CA):
“We’re losing an advocate for a cleaner environment, for addressing climate change, and for reforming chemical safety as strong as we have ever seen in Congress. Congressman Waxman has been an ally to working families and the environment and has spent his entire career leading the charge to address climate change. We’re grateful especially for all of his work spearheading passage of historic legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives, that would have transformed energy production in America—the American Clean Energy and Security Act. We will carry on our work to honor his legacy. We’re proud to have named him a Green Jobs Champion in 2010 and we wish him the best as he moves on from the House of Representatives.”
