BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh Joins White House to Discuss Clean Economy Job Creation
BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh today joined the White House for a roundtable convening with White House officials, industrial sector executives, and labor leaders to discuss how emissions-reducing investments in industrial transformation can create good, union jobs in the United States. During the roundtable, Walsh spoke on incentives to grow cleaner manufacturing, such as Buy Clean procurement policies and the investments included in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.
Following the roundtable, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Walsh:
“It was an honor to join the White House and other leaders today to discuss this historic effort to build a stronger, cleaner, more resilient U.S. manufacturing base for the clean energy economy. Investing in clean manufacturing processes for steel, aluminum, cement, and other essential materials is a win-win. It will help us to achieve our climate goals, support cleaner air in industrial communities, make homegrown industries more globally competitive, and create good, union jobs across the country. The investments included in the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, coupled with the Biden administration’s commitment to a federal Buy Clean policy, will play a crucial role in modernizing our industrial sector.
“It is clear the Biden administration is prioritizing making our industrial sector cleaner and more competitive and the BlueGreen Alliance looks forward to working with them to achieve that goal.”
