Yesterday, the Biden administration committed $300 million in American Rescue Plan funds to support economic development in coal communities through the Economic Development Administration (EDA). In response, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:

“Today’s announcement by the Biden administration demonstrates a strong commitment to do all we can to revitalize coal communities as they recover from the pandemic and in the transition to a clean economy.  BGA will continue to advocate for policies that create new economic opportunities and safeguards for people and communities that will be disproportionately impacted as we build back better.”
