In response to the announcement today of a bicameral Task Force on Climate Change, BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director David Foster released the following statement.
WASHINGTON, DC (January 24, 2013) In response to the announcement today that U.S. Representative Henry A. Waxman (D-CA) and U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) have formed a bicameral Task Force on Climate Change, BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director David Foster released the following statement:
“We applaud the leadership shown today in forming a bicameral Task Force on Climate Change. As we begin to discuss strategies to combat the effects of climate change, action from Congress must be a part of the solution.
“Curbing carbon pollution, expanding the use of renewable energy sources, and addressing the deficits in our infrastructure — while creating millions of jobs — must all be part of a comprehensive strategy to address climate change. In the coming months, we look forward to putting our heads together along with Congress, the President and other key leaders, as we work toward a solution on one of the most important issues of our time.”
