As Vice President Harris Visits Milwaukee, BlueGreen Alliance Highlights Need to Ensure Clean Energy Jobs are Good Jobs
Vice President Kamala Harris today visited Milwaukee to tour the clean energy labs at the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and participate in a roundtable on the research and development investments included in the American Jobs Plan. The plan, announced earlier this spring by President Joe Biden, is a massive economic recovery plan focused on rebuilding and modernizing the nation’s infrastructure and investing in domestic manufacturing and clean energy. In response to the Vice President’s visit, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Midwest Regional Field Organizer Richard Diaz:
“We are thrilled to welcome Vice President Harris to Wisconsin. Implemented correctly—with a focus on domestic manufacturing and strong labor standards—the clean energy investments in the American Jobs Plan will put the U.S. back on track to lead globally in the development of the clean technology of the future. The American Jobs Plan will be transformational and will help to reverse the decades of disinvestment in Milwaukee and the entire state of Wisconsin, bringing a return to the state’s legacy as a manufacturing powerhouse that provides good-paying, family supporting jobs and a path to upward economic mobility for all Wisconsinites.”
