Jobs from Climate Action: The Inflation Reduction Act's Impact on Job Creation
New data commissioned by the BlueGreen Alliance released today revealed the Inflation Reduction Act’s impact on four states: Colorado, Michigan, Nevada, and Pennsylvania. This builds on the national analysis commissioned by the BlueGreen Alliance from the Political Economy Research Institute (PERI) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst finds that the more than 100 climate, energy, and environmental investments in the Inflation Reduction Act will create more than 9 million good jobs over the next decade across the country—an average of nearly 1 million jobs each year.
The research found the investments from the Inflation Reduction Act may:
- Create nearly 100,000 jobs over the next 10 years in Colorado;
- Create more than 167,000 jobs over the next 10 years in Michigan;
- Create more than 40,000 jobs over the next decade in Nevada; and
- Create more than 200,000 jobs over the next 10 years in Pennsylvania.
