One-term President Donald Trump is traveling to Detroit to feed his own ego while striking United Auto Worker (UAW) members are fighting for fair wages, an end to the inequitable tier system, and a union-built electric vehicle (EV) future. In a clear display of Trump’s lack of respect for the striking workers, he will be speaking at a non-union facility.

In advance of Trump’s trip, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:

“Donald Trump spent four years in the White House undermining the rights of working people. He can talk all he wants, but his actions speak louder than words. His visit is a disrespectful distraction from what really matters right now, which is nailing down fair contracts for UAW members and their communities.”
