The BlueGreen Alliance Responds to the U.S. EPA’s Request For Information on the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund
The EPA has a unique opportunity through the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund to deliver meaningful, lasting benefits in low-income and disadvantaged communities.
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Request for Information on implementation of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund.
This new program should be designed to maximize worker and public benefits, target disadvantaged and energy transition communities, and ensure that communities and workers have authority and representation in the oversight of this Fund. With the right implementation, the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund represents a critical pathway through which EPA can support clean energy deployment, pollution reduction and climate goals while creating good union jobs, growing domestic manufacturing, and delivering public health and environmental benefits to the workers and communities that need it most.
