Investment in State Competitiveness Fund Will Create Good-Paying Jobs in Minnesota
A new law funding Minnesota’s State Competitiveness Fund was signed today by Gov. Tim Walz. The action unlocks billions of dollars in federal funding and provides resources for local and Tribal governments, schools, businesses, and other entities to pursue federal grants for energy and infrastructure investments through the federal Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.
Following the signing of the law, the BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Minnesota Policy Organizer Abby Hornberger:
“The State Competitiveness Fund is critical to helping meet Minnesota’s ambitious climate and clean energy goals. The result is cleaner air, good-paying jobs, and investment in innovative technologies to provide safe, affordable, and reliable energy across the state. The fund will also ensure that benefits are seen equitably throughout all communities in Minnesota, including small towns and disadvantaged neighborhoods.”
