BlueGreen Alliance opposes Chemicals in Commerce Act
BlueGreen Alliances urges members of Congress to oppose draft legislation that undercuts chemicals safety and asks the House Energy and Commerce Committee to undertake the critical task of responsibly legislating chemicals reform.

The BlueGreen Alliance writes members of Congress in opposition to the release of the House discussion draft titled the “Chemicals in Commerce Act.” For the reasons stated in the attached letter, this draft does not accomplish the much needed, and long overdue, reform of the Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 (TSCA). Rather than a step forward, this draft would represent an erosion of even those thin protections still offered by TSCA, effectively making it a step backward.
