Leaders from the BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, sent a letter to President Biden and leaders in Congress urging them to use their leadership to find a path forward and pass the Build Back Better Act as soon as feasible.

The letter states, “We need a bill that puts us on track to meeting our climate commitments and addresses our nation’s persistent and unacceptably high levels of income inequality by creating millions of high-quality union jobs in clean manufacturing, clean energy, restoration and  resilience, the care economy, and upgrading our infrastructure. Importantly, these investments must be prioritized for communities that need it the most; especially low-income communities, communities of color, communities facing environmental injustice, and deindustrialized communities, in which workers face far higher rates of unemployment than national and state averages.”
