BlueGreen Alliance Endorses Tammy Duckworth
The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, announced today that the organization has endorsed Tammy Duckworth for U.S. Senate in Illinois.
“I’m honored to receive BlueGreen’s endorsement today,” Duckworth said. “I’m proud that throughout my first term in the Senate I’ve supported and helped pass legislation to protect our environment and create good paying jobs in Illinois and throughout the country with the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Inflation Reduction Act, and more. Our future as a state and as a nation depends on both the strength of our working families and creating a greener future for our kids. I’m eager to continue this work, and I look forward to working with BlueGreen Alliance.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Sen. Duckworth to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. Sen. Tammy Duckworth voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Sen. Duckworth for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Sen. Duckworth is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for U.S. Senate in Illinois.”
“We are excited to work alongside Sen. Duckworth in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
