BlueGreen Alliance Endorses Patty Murray
The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, announced today that the organization has endorsed Senator Patty Murray for U.S. Senate in Washington.
“As a voice for Washington state, I know that a strong economy and protecting our environment go hand-in-hand—and I believe that bold climate action is not just necessary, but a way to create real opportunity in our communities,” said Sen. Murray. “Investments like the Inflation Reduction Act will help supercharge a clean energy economy: creating good-paying jobs, lowering energy costs, and cutting carbon emissions in a big way. I’m proud to have the endorsement of BlueGreen Alliance—and if I’m reelected, Washington voters can count on me to keep fighting for an economy that puts workers and our environment first.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Sen. Murray to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. Sen. Murray voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Sen. Murray for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment—we can and must have both. Sen. Murray is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for U.S. Senate in Washington.”
“We are excited to work alongside Sen. Murray in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
