BlueGreen Alliance Endorses Katie Porter
The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Katie Porter for the 47th Congressional District in California.
“I’m proud to have earned the support of the BlueGreen Alliance, a group that understands climate action is fiscally responsible,” said Katie Porter, candidate for CA-47. “Combating climate change today is cheaper and easier than trying to curb it tomorrow. And by investing in clean energy, we can create millions of good-paying, union jobs in fast-growing industries like wind and solar.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Rep. Porter to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. Rep. Porter voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Rep. Porter for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Rep. Porter is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for the 47th Congressional District in California.”
“We are excited to work alongside Rep. Porter in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
