BlueGreen Alliance Endorses Eric Sorensen
The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Eric Sorensen for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois.
“I am grateful for the support of the BlueGreen Alliance, and look forward to working with them to secure good-paying, union jobs right here in Central and Northwest Illinois,” said Sorensen. “We want to make our region viable for future generations, and that means we need both the jobs for today and the jobs for the future. And that means taking advantage of our rapidly changing energy infrastructure. I am dedicated to supporting our working families so that they have what they need to succeed.”
The endorsement is a recognition that Eric Sorensen is a leader in the efforts to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Eric Sorensen for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Eric Sorensen is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois.”
“We are excited to work alongside Eric Sorensen in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
