BlueGreen Alliance Endorses Abigail Spanberger
The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced the organization has endorsed Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger for the Seventh Congressional District in Virginia.
“I believe that action to tackle the climate crisis and protect our natural resources goes hand-in-hand with building a stronger economy for Virginians,” said Spanberger. “I’m proud to receive the endorsement of the BlueGreen Alliance and look forward to working together to build a cleaner and more prosperous future for our Commonwealth.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Congresswoman Spanberger to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. Congresswoman Spanberger voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Congresswoman Spanberger for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Congresswoman Spanberger is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for Seventh Congressional District in Virginia.”
“We are excited to work alongside Congresswoman Spanberger in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
