The Biden-Harris administration today announced the formation of a new partnership of federal government agencies, states, Tribes, local communities, nongovernmental organizations, water utilities, labor unions, and private companies working together to address the lead crisis.

In response to today’s announcement, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:

“Access to clean drinking water should never be a concern in the United States, and yet millions of families across the nation are exposed to lead in their water. It will take bold action and a robust workforce to address this ongoing crisis. As we build that workforce we should work to ensure that the jobs created and supported are high-quality, union jobs. We appreciate the administration’s continued commitment to a future where nobody has to worry about their water harming their health.”
