Tamina Chowdhury serves as the California State Policy Manager for the BlueGreen Alliance, overseeing the organization’s program and policy efforts in the state. Her role involves collaborating closely with the California Table – a coalition of labor and environmental partners – to establish strategic priorities, devise policy initiatives that advance the clean economy, and cultivate relationships with the diverse range of partners affiliated with BGA.
With a background in legislative strategy, Tamina has worked in various capacities, including in campaigns, organizing, think tanks, state legislation, PACs, and nonprofits. At the core, she is a policy advocate and has worked on a broad range of issues ranging from online privacy, racial and environmental justice to reproductive autonomy, immigration, and gender and LGBTQ+ rights. Prior to joining BGA, she served as State Legislative Specialist at the Human Rights Campaign.
Tamina holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Cambridge and a Masters in Globalization and Development from Warwick University. She is passionate about the planet and in her leisure time, enjoys exploring state and national parks to appreciate the beauty and treasure they offer.
