Eric Steen joined the BlueGreen Alliance in August of 2009 as the Deputy Communications Director and became Director of Communications in March 2014. In September of 2024, he began his new role as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Impact.

Eric brings two decades of media relations and communications experience to the BlueGreen Alliance, promoting the organization’s efforts to fight climate change, protect the health of people and the environment, stand against economic and racial inequality, and create and maintain good-paying, union jobs in communities across the country.

He previously spent six years as Media Relations Liaison for the Minnesota State Senate, working with Senators to inform the public about a variety of issues. He has also worked as a News Director for a radio station in Minnesota.
