BlueGreen Alliance Endorses Sen. Bob Casey for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania
The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, today announced that the organization has endorsed Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) for reelection to the U.S. Senate.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Sen. Casey,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Sen. Casey is a champion for fighting for clean energy, protecting the health of people and the environment, and creating good-paying union jobs. He is the best choice in the race for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania.”
The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Sen. Casey’s commitment to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and protect the health of people and the environment. Sen. Casey voted for several key priorities demonstrating his legislative record supporting workers and a clean environment.
According to the White House, in Pennsylvania—thanks in part to federal legislation—over the last three-and-a-half years Pennsylvania has seen:
- The creation of 528,700 jobs;
- 515,600 applications for new businesses;
- $4.4 billion in private sector manufacturing and clean energy investments; and
- An investment of $395 million to replace lead pipes.
“We are excited to work alongside Sen. Casey in this election and beyond,” said Walsh. “We need his leadership in the Senate, and we ask Pennsylvanians to support him for another term.”
