Biden Administration’s EV Charge Continues with Grant Program Announcement
The Biden administration today opened the first application round of funding for the Charging and Fueling Infrastructure Discretionary Grant Program. The program is a Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) investment supporting state and local governments and public entities to build electric vehicle (EV) charging and other alternative fuel infrastructure in their communities.
In response to the announcement, the BlueGreen Alliance released a statement from Senior Policy Advisor Reem Rayef:
“These grants from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law will build upon the strong foundation of the highway EV charging system funded by the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program. These competitive grants will generate high-quality jobs manufacturing, installing, maintaining, and operating EV charging equipment in communities across the country, while growing a domestic manufacturing supply chain for EV charging infrastructure.
“This is an opportunity to extend access to affordable and accessible EV charging infrastructure across all America’s diverse communities and geographies – particularly areas where private investment is lacking. We applaud the administration for their continued focus on building clean, prosperous, and equitable communities and creating good-paying jobs for working people.”
