The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, announced today that the organization has endorsed Chuck Schumer for U.S. Senate in New York.

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of BlueGreen Alliance,” said Schumer. “They are a force throughout the country for enlightened principles and policies that combine the power of both labor and the environment. BlueGreen Alliance has been a great leader in protecting our environment and creating American jobs to address economic inequality. Because of their work, America is closer to achieving clean infrastructure, climate justice and creating a new strong economy for our working class. I look forward to working with BlueGreen Alliance to create a new economy focused on our working class and protecting our environment.”

Senate Majority Leader Schumer voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Schumer to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change.

This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
