The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, announced today that the organization has endorsed Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto for U.S. Senate in Nevada.

“I will always fight to safeguard our beautiful public lands and create clean-energy jobs in Nevada to combat climate change,” said Sen. Cortez Masto. “I am glad to have the support of the BlueGreen Alliance, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to protect our environment and promote a renewable energy economy.”

The endorsement is a recognition of the leadership of Sen. Cortez Masto to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change. Sen. Cortez Masto voted for several key priorities, including the Inflation Reduction Act and Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Sen. Cortez Masto for Congress,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Sen. Cortez Masto is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice in the race for U.S. Senate in Nevada.”

“We are excited to work alongside Sen. Cortez Masto in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.

This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
