BlueGreen Alliance Endorses Mandela Barnes
The BlueGreen Alliance, a national partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations, announced today that the organization has endorsed Mandela Barnes for U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.
“From the beginning, I’ve worked to bring diverse groups together to fight the effects of climate change while creating good-paying union jobs, and I am so grateful to have BlueGreen Alliance’s support,” said Lt. Governor Mandela Barnes, candidate for U.S. Senate. “After Congress passed the Clean Air Act, the jobs that were created not only changed my family’s life, but the lives of millions of working Wisconsinites. I look forward to working to give Wisconsin the opportunity to build our own energy future while bringing good-paying jobs to our state.”
The endorsement is a recognition that Mandela Barnes is a leader in the efforts to create good-paying union jobs, fight economic and racial injustice, and reduce the emissions driving climate change.
“The BlueGreen Alliance is proud to endorse Mandela Barnes,” said BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director Jason Walsh. “Our organization is founded on the belief that we don’t have to choose between good jobs and a clean environment; we can and must have both. Mandela Barnes is a champion for building a clean, prosperous, and equitable future and is the best choice for the U.S. Senate in Wisconsin.”
“We are excited to work alongside Mandela Barnes in this election and beyond,” said Walsh.
This is the first year that the BlueGreen Alliance is endorsing candidates for Congress. Previously, the organization endorsed Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States in 2020—the first such endorsement in the organization’s history.
