Biden State of the Union to Highlight Historic Victories, but Work Remains
President Joe Biden will deliver his State of the Union Address this evening and is expected to note several policy wins from his first year in office, including the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Ahead of the president’s address, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Jason Walsh:
“This past year we have seen major progress in rebuilding and modernizing our infrastructure and growing jobs. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law makes important investments that will help repair our roads and bridges, get lead pipes out of our water infrastructure, build out the charging infrastructure to support electric vehicle deployment, expand clean energy transmission, and more.
“However, work remains to meet the historic moment we’re in—to truly deliver a stronger, cleaner, and more equitable economy that is secure in the face of the crises we are facing. The House has done its job in passing a budget reconciliation bill that revitalizes our national manufacturing industry, shores up robust domestic supply chains, builds out our clean energy sector, and builds more resilient communities. Now it is time for the Senate to step up and pass a pro-worker, pro-climate action budget reconciliation bill and send it to President Biden’s desk so we can have a recovery for America, by America.”
