Justin Jackson serves as the Press Secretary for the BlueGreen Alliance. In this capacity, Jackson executes the communication strategies for the organization’s federal campaigns and coordinates media opportunities for staff.

In addition, Jackson works closely with the organization’s state and regional teams to facilitate earned media opportunities, develop communications materials, and launch advocacy campaigns in coalition with climate and labor partners around targeted policy issues and state legislation.

Before joining the BlueGreen Alliance, Jackson worked in communications as the Associate Press Secretary for the Sierra Club and facilitated the launching of “Green Wave 2020”, a nationwide coalition of the top environmental advocacy groups to elect climate champions at every level of government. Further, Jackson worked to support the Sierra Club’s coordinated efforts with endorsed candidates and campaigns throughout the country.

Jackson’s professional work extends beyond working in the nonprofit sector and is rooted in his years working at each level of government in the State of California. Jackson has served at the pleasure of several appointed and elected figures at the city, county, state, and federal levels of government. His direct work includes serving in support of high-ranking elected officials, including Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, CA State Senate Majority Leader Bob Hertzberg, and former Secretary of Labor Hilda L. Solis, among others.

Justin has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with an emphasis in American Institutions and a minor in Pan Asian American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Justin is based out of the Greater Los Angeles area.
