Regulatory Accountability Act Latest in Barrage of Congressional Attacks Worker Safety, Environmental Protections
The Regulatory Accountability Act was introduced today in the U.S. Senate and BlueGreen Alliance Executive Director released a statement urging Senators to focus on creating quality jobs for American workers instead of more attacks on worker and environmental protections.
WASHINGTON, DC (April 26, 2017) – Following the introduction of the Regulatory Accountability Act of 2017 in the U.S. Senate, legislation that would dramatically shift the way safeguards are handled by federal agencies to make it harder to protect workers and the environment, the BlueGreen Alliance released the following statement from Executive Director Kim Glas:
“The Regulatory Accountability Act will do nothing create jobs; it will just make them less safe. It won’t safeguard our environment; it will further endanger it.
“The Senate should reject this extreme bill and instead focus on policies that will create quality jobs for American workers, protect our environment for future generations, and build a fair and thriving economy that ensures all Americans have the opportunity to succeed and build a better life for themselves and their families.”
